This page is just for Haikus. Read one, hear one, write one that you want to share? Stuck trying to find the perfect syllables to finish you thought? Well, share them here! Please, though, if a poem is not your own work, make sure you give credit where it’s due. That also lets us look into that poet’s other work if we’re interested!

I can start us off with my Haikus about my running shoes!! (Written for a Runner’s World contest a couple falls ago)
A Trio of Shoe Haikus by Julie Hasted
1.
Mud-covered laces,
Rocks and burrs stuck in the tread
Hints of where I’ve been
2.
My shoes like scrapbooks
Hold mementoes from the trail
Until the next run
3.
Sole-ful bits of foam,
meditation mats for feet,
shoes make sounds of “Ohm.”
A Haiku by a non-poet called “Cafeteria” and inspired by a best friend Kevin who hides things and George Lopez:
[the 2nd and 3rd lines of this Haiku should be read/spoken very quickly...like George Lopez!]
Cafeteria
Hey! You… Where is it?
Sabes que, mira, Cabron!
Give me my pie back!
OK, it’s 11:30pm and I only got 3 and a half hours of sleep last night, but I just got the urge to Haiku–sorry if it stinks!
Staying up this late
Used to be a lot of fun.
When did I get old?
w00t here my happy haiku poem (and very few of my poems are happy) hope you like
Ocean
Ocean like a sky
An ocean waves crash in shore
But love is to see
Wave-like seasons crash;
Winter, spring battle for sky.
Winds, rain, mark the days.
Monkeys love to fly
Jumping from tree to tree
Monkeys are so funning
